It would seem that this song would be just another one pointed at our veracity-challenged Prevaricator-in-Chief, but I’m sorry to say it’s more than that.
I served on a Downtown Development Board and as a Township Trustee for a number of years. During this time, I got to see a lot of “honorable” people with all the “right ideas” lying their asses off in public hearings in the service of the “greater good.” Hypocrisy, it seems, is hard-wired into our human genome, regardless of our political leanings. The fact that people don’t seem to care that they’re being lied to and continue to listen to these liars is exhausting. It does beg the question: Do they believe the lies they spread? Are they stupid, or do they think we are? Hint: Yes!.
Donn Deniston is playing a great groove on drums here, and Dave Roof is playing two bass parts. Mallory is singing harmony, and I’m playing my old Gibson acoustic and a Reverend 12-string with Bud’z pickups to get a Rickenbacker sound in a much more ergonomically agreeable guitar.
