This song started with the title and refers back to my days in High School when I was beginning to try to write poetry. I’d try to employ the conventions of poetic form: meter, symbolism, metaphor, alliteration, consonance, simile… but mostly I wanted to say what I wanted to say!
Ellie Cruze sings the melody in this song after the first verse, as we do in our Solo Duo performances. She’s great. Donn Deniston and Dave Roof form the rhythm section, I’m playing a bunch of guitars.
